Change will shape the future of Keiro Northwest

For more than 40 years, Keiro Northwest has been providing a number of elder care services, including an assisted living facility, for those looking to honor their Japanese heritage and continue their way of life. Keiro — a nonprofit organization — has struggled to maintain financial stability in light of the state’s low Medicaid reimbursement rates, just like their private counterparts. But new CEO Bridgette Takeuchi is looking to bring Keiro into the future while maintaining the organization’s traditions and building on its legacy.

“Seventy-five percent of our building is on Medicaid. When you come to a facility like ours, that’s unique. We provide all the language services, activities, and they stay here with us for a while.”
